Furniture for your home or office is a big investment. It is not something that should be purchased impulsively. Many factors are considered when selecting furniture.

  1. Most importantly, the room should be drawn to scale to create a floor plan to determine what pieces of furniture are needed.
  2. The floor plan also helps to determine the size, dimensions, and scale of the furniture.
  3. Style is the next factor to consider. This is important as the style will contribute to the overall theme of the room.
  4. Specific details such as finish, and or upholstery fabric selection as well as arm styles, firmness of cushions, skirt vs. legs on upholstery need to be determined.
  5. The manufacturer needs to be selected.
  6. The price can be determined.
  7. When all of the above is factored in, the manufacturer can dictate the availability of the product.
  8. Delivery of the furnishing can be arranged.
  9. It is important to correctly position the purchased item within the room.
  10. Accessorize the furniture - add pillows, lamps, etc.

If standard furniture does not fit, we have manufacturers and tradesmen who can make custom sizes.

There are upholstery manufacturers who have 'design your own' programs for upholstered furniture where you can choose the arm style, back style, base or skirt, cushion density to create a totally custom piece of furniture.
